It is used clinically for the prevention and treatment of acute pancreatitis, fibrinolysis-induced haemorrhage and diffuse intravascular coagulation. It is also used in anti-shock therapy. Peptidase inhibits trypsin, fibrinolytic enzymes, plasma and tissue vasopressors in humans by forming reversible enzyme-inhibitor complexes in certain chemical ratios. Serine-activated proteases play a major role in the vasopressin-kininogen-kinin system, the complement system, and the coagulation system, in which fibrinolytic enzymes and plasma vasopressin play key roles.
